Fly Above

I look outside
On a sunny day;
See the clouds up high
And birds at play.

I wonder why,
Why not me?
Why is the sky
Only to see?

I want to go up there,
Into the great round.
The view’d be so fair
Away from the ground!

Escape the dark mindset
Of the world these days;
The horrible entangling net
That brings us into haze.

Blind to the possible joys,
We choose death instead.
All we ever hear is noise
Leading us into deep dread.

Why is it avoided,
The truth that there is love?
We only see the hatred.
I long to fly above
