Winter Serenity

A tiny flake lands on my tongue
The fun of winter has begun.
Snow illuminates the darkest night
As if it were in broad daylight.

Cold winds blow with flurries small
Late birds fly over with a call.
A bright sun rises, lighting up all
A dangling leaf gives up and falls.

The world looks gentle, inviting and soft
A thing which does not happen oft.
Let us enjoy the calm serenity,
The spirit of rest, a friendly entity.

Take a moment to soak it in
Take a break from life, and win.
At least a glance at the blanket of white
Will begin to set your heart aright.
